What a week of showings can look like

A practical picture of showing requests, notice, being out of the home, and feedback — to help you plan around work, children, and pets.

Before the first showing

Most of the effort happens before the listing goes live: cleaning, putting personal items away, and agreeing how showings will be arranged.

  • Agree the notice you need, such as 24 hours
  • Choose regular showing windows that suit the household
  • Decide who confirms requests and how
  • Plan where pets, and anyone at home, will go during visits

An example week

Every listing is different. This is only an illustration of how an agreed schedule might work.

  • First weekend: one or two open or private viewing windows, often the busiest time
  • Weekday evenings: occasional requests within the agreed window
  • Midweek: a short feedback summary sent to each owner the same way
  • Following weekend: fewer or more visits, depending on interest

During each visit

Occupants are usually out of the home. A quick reset — lights on, counters clear, valuables and documents put away — becomes routine after the first few times. A short checklist by the door helps.

Feedback

Buyer feedback is often brief. It is shared through the communication arrangement agreed at the start, so each owner hears the same information. Feedback is one input; it is not a reason on its own to change price.

If the schedule is not working

Say so early. Showing windows, notice, and arrangements for children or pets can be adjusted. Changes that affect both owners should be agreed by both.
